Our Story

Hello, my name is Audrey Allard. Growing up in Northern NSW, I knew I had to leave my comfort zone and head to the big smoke to sharpen up my culinary skills and make a name for myself. 

 

In 2017 as a third-year Apprentice studying my Certificate 5 in Patisserie, I made a split decision to pack my car and head to Melbourne. This was one of the best decisions of my life. I ended up working in some pretty amazing restaurants.

 

Like many others in Melbourne 2020, I had my shifts cut short and was in desperate need to keep my mind busy, so I started baking sweets for my housemates. I live and breathe desserts, so I thought... why not just start my own business? Holy Sugar was created within a week, with boxes heading out to friends from my instagram page. 

 

It didn't take long for the word to spread and a cult following to form. And after two years of delivering dessert boxes, I finally opened a shop in the heart of Northcote. 

 

Creating Holy Sugar hasn't always been smooth sailing. There's definitely been a lot of bumps in the road, and I feel like I'm quite public and raw in regards to my journey. Instagram is where I'm most active, so pop over to this account if you want to see & know more: @HolySugar__
